Function & Objectives

Common Ground's primary function is to provide care for children and young people aged 8 – 18 years, experiencing a residential placement breakdown, breakdown in the family home, or children and young people in need of ‘respite’ care or an emergency placement at short notice. There is an emphasis on providing intensive therapeutic work in a safe, structured environment, with a strong leaning towards interest-based activities, in response to an urgent or crisis situation.

Common Thread as a whole works with children and young people on a short, medium and long-term basis and specializes in understanding and working with children with attachment, trauma and other emotional issues. We use a range of tools such as creative therapies, NLP and we emphasis the importance of play. Helping them to understand their past and look to their future. More...
